Improve Your Business Posture Today!

Improve Your Business Posture Today!

What do you think of when you see someone who interacts with a client, prospect or audience with a slouching posture? Lack of confidence? No energy? Sloppy?

A “slouching posture” can affect our career trajectory, too. And, if we are not standing tall, using expressive gestures, and displaying confidence, then we send a message that keeps us from success. As we make contact with prospective clients and colleagues, everything about our “posture” matters. Posture is about positioning, and owning it! It’s about taking and being a “stand” for something!

To show you’re no “slouch”:

  1. Prepare to “be” positive, compelling, and have positive information to share. This will involve some research about the person, the company, the market they are in, etc. Find something that has you connect with each other.
  2. Smile and use an upbeat, genuine tone of voice. You don’t have to fake it, unless of course, you do. Avoid being doom and gloom, for it won’t get you anywhere, and the other person may quickly move away from you.
  3. Ask thought-provoking questions that have you both looking toward the future.
  4. Be sure about the value you offer to your clients and company. Get solid on why you or your product or company is “the one”. Speak that powerfully…..with panache!

Practice being the embodiment of strong posture by practicing in the mirror, or with another colleague for support. Any one of these items will define your posture as memorable and, more importantly, someone that is accomplished and successful. Do what it takes to posture yourself for success and fulfillment!

Support Your Life: Create Your Own Personal Board of Directors!

Life is dynamic and challenging! Wouldn’t you agree? It’s filled with ups and downs, joys and sorrows, successes and failures. Professionals lead incredibly busy lives and often struggle with keeping life in balance so that we can ultimately experience a sense of ease, grace and power, as well as fulfill our dreams. In order to be our optimal self, there must be a sense of order with support resources in place to help us get through it! No one can do it alone! Craving New Clients?

Craving New Clients?

Where do you find new clients? Where do you meet new contacts? How do you stand out and be remembered, considered, and admired? Here’s a tip: It’s not being at home in monologue with yourself. It’s out in the world where people are!

According to Nielsen’s most recent report, we spend nearly 11 hours each day using electronics and participating in electronic media platforms phone, tv, computers, tablets, etc. They even mention that some of our use happens simultaneously! Imagine that! Although technology has made some tasks in life simpler, it can occur as addictive, and as we surf, we seemingly connect with others. But, do we really?

When we were kids, the grownups would always say, “Go out and play!” And, now I invite you to do the same! Unplug. Get dressed for business and go someplace where you will find your target market and make some sales!

You can meet people at the darndest places: professional associations, seminars, sporting events, retreats, volunteering, church, airports, Chambers, networking events, doctor’s offices, shopping, parties, the gym, and practically anywhere you wait in line. And there’s always a Starbucks in every neighborhood! One never knows when the urge for a Venti Cappuccino will strike!
